His Imperial Majesty, Oba (DR.) F.E.O Akinruntan (OBAT) - The Olugbo of Ugbo Kingdom wearing a diamond wrist watch, bracelet and ring |
His Imperial Majesty, Oba (Dr.) Frederick Obateru Akinruntan. Okoro Ajiga I. The Olugbo of Ugbo recently marked his fourth year anniversary on the throne of His Fathers. The Oba who is usually known for His high taste for class and sophistication made this evident in the event marking the anniversary.
He responded on the CSI Carpet session that His love for diamonds is as a result of His insistence on UNIQUENESS .
The chiefs, indigents and visitors to the community attested to the fact that KABIYESI has transformed the community and the lives of its members in His four years of mounting the throne. The town is gradually becoming a tourist attraction for visitors to have a feel of the rapid development in UGBO during the Oil Magnate's reign.
Recently quoted by city people magazine as saying: "First and foremost I am very creative and secondly, I emulate the style of our forefathers, wearing royal beads as an old style. You know these days, if you want to become a popular and flamboyant king, you have to use diamonds. Diamond chains, diamond wrist watches, diamond shoes, diamond ring and my muffler is also made of diamond or gold. And that will make you unique among other Obas and that doesn't make you proud. I like to be the first in everything. I have the largest oil tank in West Africa today. Again my chain of cars, I use the same type of automobile with the Queen of England, Queen Elizabeth, we use the same Rolls Royce and Bentley. Asides that, I have 7 door limousine Mercedes, I want to be the first in everything." Oba Akinruntan's love for class is evident in His diamond adornments inclusive of a wrist watch worth one million dollars (about a hundred and sixty million naira) the newly constructed palace in Ugbo ranking as the most expensive in Africa adorned with gold all around.
Ambassador Abayomi Akinruntan(ABA) the Oba's first son expressed that Ugbo Land would never forget his father for putting her on the map.
Second son and Obat Oil's M.D, Prince Femi Akinruntan also expressed that His father has been so instrumental to their independence by instilling in them the spirit of hardwork... without forgetting to mention that his(Prince Femi) most expensive fashion purchase is a wrist watch with many zeros which he refused to disclose.
The Oba thrilled the guests on the red carpet as he showed His love for dance by displaying some really classy dance steps. All hail the King on diamonds at four!
